<p>Introducing one of the main characters of my upcoming comic book, OVERCAST: Penumbra! <strong>Overcast </strong>is a Victorian-era-inspired, gothic detective story in a fictionalized England between the 1880s-1890s, where all the characters are anthropomorphic animals instead of humans! <strong>Overcast </strong>follows the investigations of Balthazar Crawfield, an enigmatic, insightful, and perceptive raven detective, as he tries to navigate the mysteries of London and the local countryside, filled with intrigue, darkness, and danger.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>

Though get him in a group of people he's comfortable with and he becomes much more talkative and confident, even energetic, especially about things hes interested in. Tora takes quite a bit of pride in his tails, combing them daily to loosen any tangles, this means that his fur is ridiculously soft and silky. He loves singing, and art, combining the two kn occasion but he will never allow anyone to see or hear his work until he's satisfied that its complete.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Background</strong></p> <p>The only Hozei-Zumi to be born in his family, Tora wasn't exactly made to feel welcome by the older generation. But his mother couldn't care less about his appearance o<em>r</em> the opinion of her parents, she loved her son no matter what. He lives with his mother and maternal aunt, but he doesn't know his father as he disappeared several years ago after being arrested due to Tora's grandmother, something his mother vowed she would never forgive her for. He also has a short fuse, especially when his parents are mentioned (or if you pester him with questions about his cat-like tendencies) A loner by nature you will not find this teen if he wants to be found. Though if you get to know him and he relaxes a little you'll find he can be quite fun to be around. Just don't ask him if you can touch his ears or tail&hellip;&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Background</strong></p> <p>As a child Kiiro was quite cheerful and curious about the world. He loved his parents very much and as such was devastated when they were apparently killed in an explosion when he was 10 years old (their bodies were never found so Kiiro doesn't fully believe this) leading him and his older brother Ryusei being taken in by their aunt and uncle. Though Ryusei left shortly after to look into their parents' supposed deaths himself, while Kiiro spent most of his time with family friend Hiroto Mizubuki eventually moving into Pride Place when Hiroto opened it.&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Art by Tururs, design and info by me.</p> <p>Character, concept and Species belong to me</p>

Though this is only on the surface. In truth, Enkai is socially awkward and finds it difficult to open up to those they don't know. They also find it difficult to control their emotions and, due to bad experiences in the past, have major trust issues. They tend to try to keep their problems to themself. One simply has to watch how they interact with their brother Yuki to see the truth behind the facade.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Background</strong></p> <p>Being born to two hozei-zumi parents you'd think that Enkai would have no problems when it came to being &lsquo;different&rsquo; wouldn't you? Well you'd be wrong. With a mother that never listened and an abusive drunk for a father, life just seemed like a chore. Add to that the gender issues they were dealing with and Enkai was just about ready to quit by the time they were 14. <p>To any regular person Eranda Basho, more commonly known simply as Eranda, would seem like any other place. Well, to be honest, for the most part it is. Buildings, people, animals, all normal.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Except for the Hozei-Zumi.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>The Hozei-Zumi are certain people born with special gifts (or curses as some people believe). Each person will have a mark somewhere on their bodies, a birthmark in the shape of an animal.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>What is this strange mark? Where did these powers come from? Why were these people given these abilities in the first place? Much is still unknown about them. If the Hozei-Zumi themselves know any of the answers to these questions they certainly aren't sharing.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Outcast for their differences or revered for their incredible abilities, the Hozei-Zumi are always treated differently by regular people so they try to keep to themselves or hide their marks to try and fit in. Some even seek out other gifted people and form groups with them.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Or some, like 17 year old Kiiro Yonaka, couldn't give a damn what others think of them and do whatever the hell they want.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>But things are about to change.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>So this is a story I'm working on, not really got a cover for it as of yet so for now I'll just be using a picture of an egg that may or may not be important to the story...</p>
