The Classing System

You're here! 😅

Each creature of Draekana is attuned to certain elements that exist within Draekana. The closer to said natural element, the more at home and powerful they are. They can be classified based on such elements into Classes, primary elements, and Subclasses, secondary elements. Classes consists of only the 8 primary elements; Fire, Water, Earth, Sky, Light, Dark, Thunder and Ice. Creatures can be attuned to multiple primary elements which earns them their Subclasses. Subclasses are a mix of primary elements, for example, Water + Earth = Mud. The creature would then be registered as Class Water/Earth, Subclass Mud. Similar combinations can still vary based on the dominant element of the pair. For example, Light + Dark = Star/Eclipse. When registered, the dominant element is usually written first. For example; Class: Light/Dark Subclass: Star or Class: Dark/Light Subclass: Eclipse. Incompatable elements result in one or the other element or a hybrid of both. They would be registered as Class: Fire/Ice Subclass: Hybrid. Creatures that are only attuned to their primary element are registered as Class: Fire Subclass: Pure. Sometimes, mixing the same element ends up in a Subclass that isn't pure, for example; Class: Dark Subclass: Shadow. And although some elements are compatible when mixed, you could, rarely, still end up with a hyrbid of those two elements. Class documentation does not change between species.

To help categorize each element neatly, an Element chart was made the covers each and every element. It has the 8 primary elements at the base and branches out from those. Subelements will be classified under the primary element that is dominant. So a Magma dragon, whose dominante element is Earth, would fall under the Earth category rather than the Fire category.
