Chapter 12
Our journey had led us to the discovery of a unique universe, one riddled with danger and disarray. This universe was home to a planet housing life form untouched by the complexities and terrors of intergalactic warfare and science fiction. It was a universe that might earn from our intervention.
The inhabitants were simple, somewhat primitive, and most intriguingly, an entirely new kind of creature, kind of. For Raphael, blending into their society to live a mundane life was going to be not easy. He was faced with challenges, embarking on a journey fraught with potential mortal danger.
Concerns arose regarding Perx's role during my absence. I summoned him to our meeting, issuing a new directive. He was granted the freedom to wander and enforce order over chaos in the second realm, but was strictly forbidden from intervening in the first. The Archangels were to guide him, not command him. If they needed his help, he was obliged to provide it. A stern warning was added: if he showed signs of disobedience, even without my approval, he would be cast out as a fallen angel, a fate worse than termination and extremely difficult to reverse.
As for myself, before setting off, we tested if I could still create a portal between universes. Unfortunately, I could not. The portal was too unstable and would collapse. Gabriel hadn't fully understood the gravity of the situation until then, and he exclaimed, “Hell, we didn’t need this.” But this setback was not going to stop us. Michael or Gabriel could open the portal for me, but if I ever needed to return, I would be reliant on teaching the human Raphael how to do it or having one of them open it for me. We agreed that they would reach out to me within a century at most, and they would be reaching out to my true self, not the human Raphael. He needed to stand on his own as much as possible, or our mission could be delayed, or worse, fail.
Before we moved forward, we reached out to the guardians of that universe. They were not as powerful as us, nor were they touched by the "unmentionable", but they were wise. Unfortunately, they lacked the ability to travel between universes. My fragments of power were equal to their strength. The human Raphael was technically stronger than them. If he ever lost control, Michael and Gabriel would have to step in, or that universe would face doom, and its guardians would be powerless to stop him.
I won't reveal the guardians' appearance, identity, purpose, or the terms of our agreement. But I will say this - if only the "unmentionable" would’ve revealed himself, he could have spared us all this trouble.
